A BIT of Background
I am a European performer, writer, and actress, originally from Austria. I completed a Master’s in Performance: Theatre Making at the University of the Arts London and have a diploma in acting. Initially trained in performing arts and linguistics with a research focus on foreign language acquisition via theatre, my creative practice now embraces a multidisciplinary approach with an emphasis on movement, text, and working with objects.
One side of my practice focuses on practice-based performance research specializing in live performances for stage and screen. Hereby, I focus on a critical examination of power structures through a lens of intersectional feminism. For me, performance and theatre making is an integrated, multi-disciplinary practice that combines writing, acting, design, and dramaturgy. My work questions dominant narratives and enables conversations about social justice, solidarity, and care.
The other strain of my practice is community-based, working socially engaged through performance and theatre making, including drama pedagogy. In this approach, it is particularly important to me to give a voice to people whose voices often go unheard in political discourses and to support their agency by collaboratively telling stories.
I have performed, acted, and exhibited internationally, including shows at the Austrian Cultural Forum (London, UK), National Gallery in Prague (CZ), TAG (Vienna, AT), re:publica (Berlin, DE), and 3537 (Paris, FR). In 2021, I was the winner of the I Love You Moi Non Plus art competition, a collaborative project between Somerset House, France Culture, and Dover Street Market London. Since 2022, I have been a member of the East London-based Artistic Collective The People Speak. My studio is located at Staffordshire Street Art Space.
